Made: 30th November 2000

Coming into operation—

Now, therefore, that Department, being a Department designated[^f00004] for the purpose of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00005] in relation to measures relating to the basic safety standards for the protection of the general public and workers against the dangers of ionising radiation, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the said section 2(2) and in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 2(5), 17(1), (2), (3), (4), (5) and (6)[^f00006], 40(2) and (4), 54(1) and 55(2) of, and paragraphs 1(1) and (2), 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14(1), 15, 19 and 20(a) and (b) of Schedule 3 to, the 1978 Order and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, after consultation in accordance with Article 46(1)[^f00007] of the 1978 Order with the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland and such other bodies as appeared to the Department to be appropriate, hereby makes the following Regulations:
