Emergency Powers (Amendment) Act , 1940
1 The Principal Act.
1.—In this Act the expression “the Principal Act” means the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939).
2 Amendments of section 2 of the Principal Act.
2.—(1) Paragraph (k) of sub-section (2) of section 2 of the Principal Act is hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of the words and brackets “(other than natural-born Irish citizens)” now contained therein.
(2) Paragraph (l) of sub-section (2) of section 2 of the Principal Act is hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of the words and brackets “(other than natural-born Irish citizens)” now contained therein.
(3) The Principal Act shall be construed and have effect with and subject to the amendments made by this section of paragraphs (k) and (l) of sub-section (2) of section 2 of that Act.
3 Duration of this Act.
3.—This Act shall continue in force so long as the Principal Act continues in force and no longer.
4 Short title and collective citation.
4.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Amendment) Act, 1940.
(2) The Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Emergency Powers Acts, 1939 and 1940.
