International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996

Made: 2nd April 1996

Coming into operation: 3rd June 1996

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (5) of the Finance Act 1973[^f00001], and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and with the consent of the Department of Finance and Personnel[^f00002] hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 3rd June 1996.

Amendment of the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992

The International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992[^f00003] shall be amended as follows—

• (1) In regulation 3 (fees for individual approval)—

• (a) in paragraph (a), for “£154·00” there shall be substituted “£140·00”; and

• (b) in paragraph (b), for “£82·00” there shall be substituted “£70·00”.

• (2) In regulation 4 (fee for a duplicate certificate), for “£8·80” there shall be substituted “£9·00”.

Revocation

The International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993[^f00004] are hereby revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations further amend the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992 by—

• (a) reducing the fee payable for an inspection of an individual vehicle in connection with the issue of an approval certificate, from £154·00 to £140·00 and an inspection carried out following the refusal of an approval certificate, from £82·00 to £70·00; and

• (b) increasing the fee payable for a duplicate certificate, from £8·80 to £9·00.

The International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 are revoked as a consequence of these Regulations.
