Coming into operation .: 22nd July 1996

The Department of Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 1[^f00001], 2 and 12(1) of the Seeds Act (Northern Ireland) 1965[^f00002] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, after consultation with representatives of such interests as appear to it to be concerned, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Seed Potatoes (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 22nd July 1996.

Amendment of the Seed Potatoes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981

In the Seed Potatoes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981[^f00003] in Schedule 4, Part III (Marking of packages and containers for basic seed potatoes exported from Northern Ireland) paragraph 3(d) shall be deleted.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations further amend the Seed Potatoes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981 by removing the requirement to mark the name of the variety on packages and containers of basic seed potatoes produced in Northern Ireland which are exported or intended to be exported from Northern Ireland.
