Diseases of Animals (Modification No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

Made: 3rd July 1996

Coming into operation: 24th July 1996

The Department of Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 2(3) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Modification No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 24th July 1996.

Modification of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981

In Part III of Schedule 1[^f00002] to the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 there shall be added to the list of diseases of animals specified in that Part the following—

(49) Equine viral arteritis.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order modifies Schedule 1 to the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 (“the 1981 Order”). Article 2 adds equine viral arteritis to the list of diseases in Part III of Schedule 1. The effect is to make equine viral arteritis a disease regulated by the 1981 Order.
