Coming into operation: 2nd September 1996

NOW THEREFORE the Department, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 104(1)(c) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Parking Places on Roads (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 2nd September 1996.

Amendment

2

The Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993[^f00002] shall be amended by—

  • (a) the addition to Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 1;
  • (b) the deletion from Schedule 1 to that Order of the items in Schedule 2.

SCHEDULE 1

Bush Park, Antrim, (North Side, in front of No. 59) — from a point approximately 150 metres from its junction with Parkhall Road, for a distance of approximately 6 metres in a north-westerly direction.

Seacash Drive, Antrim, (North-West Side of cul-de-sac, to the rear of No. 25) — from a point approximately 195 metres from its junction with Parkhall Road, for a distance of approximately 6 metres in a northerly direction.

Barrack Street, Armagh, (North Side) — from a point approximately 13 metres south-west of its junction with The Mall West, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

Trostan Avenue, Ballymena, (South Side) — from a point approximately 90 metres east of its junction with Castle Demesne Link, for a distance of approximately 9 metres.

Owenroe Drive, Bangor, (North-West Side) — from a point approximately 192 metres north-west of its junction with Clandeboye Road, for a distance of approximately 3.5 metres.

Quay Street, Bangor, (East Side) — from a point approximately 41 metres south of its junction with Crosby Street, for a distance of approximately 7 metres.

Eglantine Avenue, Belfast, (North-East Side) — from a point approximately 110 metres south-east of its junction with Lisburn Road, for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.

Hamill Street, Belfast, (South-East Side) — from a point approximately 54 metres north-east of its junction with Institution Place, for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.

Melrose Street, Belfast, (South-West Side) — from a point approximately 31 metres north-west of its junction with Lorne Street, for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.

Sydenham Drive, Belfast, (East Side) — from a point approximately 53 metres north of its junction with Belmont Road, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

Westmount Avenue, Carrickfergus, (North-West Side, in front of No. 7) — from a point approximately 5 metres north-west of its junction with Windmill Avenue, for a distance of approximately 6 metres in a south-westerly direction.

Main Street, Greyabbey, (North-East Side) — from a point approximately 185 metres north-east of its junction with The Square, for a distance of approximately 6 metres.

Downs Road, Newcastle, (West Side) — from a point approximately 130 metres south-west of its junction with Donard Place, for a distance of approximately 10 metres.

William Street, Newtownards, (East Side) — from a point approximately 24 metres south of its junction with Talbot Street, for a distance of approximately 5 metres.

Main Street, Strabane, (South-West Side) — from a point approximately 42 metres south-east of its junction with Castle Place, for a distance of approximately 6.5 metres.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order further amends the Parking Places on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 (“the 1993 Order”).

The amendments provide for the introduction of parking places on the parts of the roads specified in Schedule 1 and for the deletion from Schedule 1 to the 1993 Order of the parking places specified in Schedule 2.
