The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) of the Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 1995[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf. hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Jobseekers (1995 Order) (Commencement No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.

(2) In this Order, “the Order” means the Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 1995.

Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a) paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Order, and Article 40(1) of the Order in so far as it relates to that paragraph, is 2nd September 1996, and

(b) all other provisions of the Order in so far as not already in operation, is 7th October 1996.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This, the fourth Order commencing provisions of the Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 (“the Order”), provides for the coming into operation of paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Order on 2nd September 1996 and for the whole of the remainder of the Order, in so far as not already in operation, on 7th October 1996.
