The Department of Economic Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by paragraph 11(2)(b) of Schedule 2 to the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation

This Order may be cited as the Employment Rights (1996 Order) (Residuary Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.
Appointed day
2
The day appointed as the relevant commencement date for the purposes of paragraph 11 of Schedule 2 to the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 is 6th October 1996.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order provides for the coming into operation of Articles 69, 86, 87, 88 and 133 of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 (employment rights of trustees of occupational pension schemes). By virtue of Article 1 of that Order the remainder of that Order came into operation on 24th September 1996 with the exception of Article 237 (armed forces) and paragraphs (3)(c) and (4)(a)(iii) of Article 15 (disability discrimination).
