Coming into operation: 29th December 1996

The Department of Economic Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 14(8)(b) of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[^f00001], and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Employment Rights (Health Service Employers) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 29th December 1996.

Specified descriptions of employment

The following descriptions of employment are hereby specified for the purposes of Article 14(7) of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

This Order specifies for the purposes of Article 14(7) of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 the descriptions of employment (being employment in which persons are engaged while undergoing professional training which involves their being employed successively by a number of different health service employers) where the continuity of the employee’s period of employment is, by virtue of that Article, maintained on his changing his employer for that purpose.
