The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 14(2) and 14(4) of the Noise Act 1996[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation

This Order may be cited as the Noise Act 1996 (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997.
Appointed day
2
The day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the Noise Act 1996, in so far as they apply to Northern Ireland, shall be 1st September 1997.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings the provisions of the Noise Act 1996, in so far as they apply to Northern Ireland, into operation on 1st September 1997.
