The Commissioner for Complaints (1997 Amendment Order) (Commencement ) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997

The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) of the Commissioner for Complaints (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997[^f00001] and paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974[^f00002], and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Commissioner for Complaints (1997 Amendment Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997.

Appointed day

• (1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of the Commissioner for Complaints (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 is 1st December 1997.

• (2) Articles 7, 8 and 8A of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[^f00003] shall apply in relation to—

• (a) action beginning on or after 1st December 1997;

• (b) action beginning before that date if it can reasonably be said that part of the same action occurs on or after that date.

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation the whole of the Commissioner for Complaints (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 (“the Order”) on 1st December 1997. The Order also brings certain actions, begun before 1st December 1997 and continuing on or after that date, within the scope of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996, as amended by this Order
