Made: 6th March 1998

To be laid before Parliament

Coming into operation: 13th April 1998

The Secretary of State, in pursuance of section 25 of the Police Act (Northern Ireland) 1970[^f00001], and after consulting, in accordance with section 34(2) of that Act, the Police Authority and the Police Association and, in accordance with section 62(3) of the Police Act 1996[^f00002], the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom, hereby, with the concurrence of the Treasury, makes the following regulations:—

Citation and commencement

These regulations may be cited as the Royal Ulster Constabulary Pensions (Provision of Information) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 13th April 1998.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These regulations permit the Police Authority to provide, in prescribed circumstances and to prescribed persons, information about whether an individual who has opted or transferred out of the RUC pension scheme has suffered loss as a result of a contravention which is actionable under section 62 of the Financial Services Act 1986.
