The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) of the Further Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1997[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—
Citation

This Order may be cited as the Further Education (1997 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998.
Appointed day
2
The provisions of the Further Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 (except those already in operation) shall come into operation on 1st April 1998.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order brings into operation on 1st April 1998 all the provisions of the Further Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 except Articles 1(3), 2, 10 and 24 and Schedule 2 which came into operation on the expiration of 2 months from 22nd July 1997, the day on which the Order was made.
