Coming into operation: 5th May 2003

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, being a Department designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the said section 2(2) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Slaughter Premium (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 5th May 2003.

Amendment of the principal Regulations

(d) regulation 7 of the Beef Special Premium Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001[^f00019]; and (e) regulation 5 of the Suckler Cow Premium Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001[^f00020].

(d) regulation 8 of the Beef Special Premium Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001; and (e) regulation 6 of the Suckler Cow Premium Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Slaughter Premium Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001 (“the 2001 Regulations”) which lay down implementing measures for the slaughter premium scheme for bovine animals introduced by Article 11 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1254/1999 on the common organisation of the market in beef and veal.
