Coming into operation

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(2)(a) and 19(4)(a) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002[^f00001] and (in relation to section 2(2)(a)) with the agreement of the Lord Chief Justice.

Amendment to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002

At the end of Schedule 1 (Listed judicial offices) insert—

  • President of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal
  • Member of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal

At the end of Schedule 6 (Office holders required to take judicial oath) insert—

  • President of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal
  • Member of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (c. 26) to add the offices of President and Member of the Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal to:—

The Northern Ireland Valuation Tribunal is established by Article 36A of and Schedule 9B to the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 (S.I. 1977/2157 N.I.28) as amended by Article 29 of and Schedule 1 to the Rates (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/2954 N.I.18).
