The Court Funds (Amendment) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2009

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 82(1) of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978[^f00001] and with the concurrence of the Treasury, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement

These Rules may be cited as the Court Funds (Amendment) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 20th July 2009.
Prescribed rates of interest

In rule 32A of the Court Funds Rules (Northern Ireland) 1979[^f00002]—
- (a) in paragraph 2 for “3% per annum” substitute “0.3% per annum”; and
- (b) in paragraph 3 for “4% per annum” substitute “0.5% per annum”.

(This note is not part of the Rules)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Rules amend the Court Funds Rules (Northern Ireland) 1979 [ 1979 No. 105] so as to amend the rate of interest payable—
- (a) on money placed to the deposit account from 3% per annum to 0.3% per annum;
- (b) on money placed to the short-term investment account from 4% per annum to 0.5% per annum.
