The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1 (2) of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 [^f00001], makes the following Order:

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (2006 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009.

Appointed Day

The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006—

is 31st December 2009.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the coming into operation on 31st December 2009 of Articles 4 to 8, 13 to 18, 20 and 21 of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 relating to the designation of sports grounds and the administration, issuing and enforcement of safety certificates by the District Councils in Northern Ireland.

Articles 1 to 3, 9 to 12, 19 and 22 to 27 of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 came into operation on the 14th March 2006.
