Coming into operation: 31st December 2009

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 19(1)(b) and (c) and 27(1) and (2) of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006[^f00001], makes the following Regulations after consultation with such persons or bodies as appeared to it appropriate:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

These Regulations may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Fees and Appeals) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 31st December 2009.

In these Regulations “the 2006 Order” means the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.

Fees

The fees to be charged in respect of an application for the issue, amendment, replacement or transfer of a safety certificate are as follows—

Appeals under Article 8 of the 2006 Order

beginning with the relevant date.

Appeals under Article 10 of the 2006 Order

An appeal by any person against a prohibition notice under Article 10(1) and (2) of the 2006 Order shall be brought within twenty-one days beginning with the day on which the notice was served.

Appeals under Article 17 of the 2006 Order

beginning with the relevant date.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations concern safety certificates issued under Parts II and III of The Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and:-

1prescribe the fees to be charged by a district council in respect of applications for the issue, amendment, replacement and transfer of safety certificates; and

2prescribe the time limits within which appeals under Articles 8, 10 and 17 of the Order may be brought to the court.
