Coming into operation: 1st December 2009

The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 30B(1), (3), (4) and (5) and 42(2A) and (2B) of the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977[^f00001].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Rate Relief (Education, Training and Leaving Care) (Revocation and Savings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2009.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations revoke, with savings, Parts 1 to 3 of the Rate Relief (Education, Training and Leaving Care) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 (“the 2007 Regulations”) which provided for rate relief in respect of dwellings occupied by persons under 18 and persons in education or training or leaving care. Savings provisions are made in respect of applications for rate relief made before these Regulations come into operation.

Part 4 of the 2007 Regulations (exemption from rates for certain halls of residence) continues to have effect.
