Coming into operation: 14th December 2009

The Department of the Environment, being a department designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002], acting in relation to measures relating to the environment in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by that section, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Groundwater (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 14 December 2009.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Groundwater Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (“the Principal Regulations”). They amend the Penalties provision (regulation 29(a)) in respect of the formula to be used for determining the penalty to be applied on summary conviction.
