The Department of the Environment makes the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1991[^f00001].

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) (1991 Order) (Commencement No.2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011.

Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into operation of Article 7 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1991[^f00002] (compulsory training courses for riders of motor cycles) is 21st February 2011.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 21st February 2011 Article 7 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 which has the effect of requiring motor cyclists, who have yet to pass a test of competence to drive a motor bicycle, to undergo compulsory training unless exempted by Regulations from having to do so.
