Coming into operation: 1st October 2010

The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 15(1) and 15(3) of, and paragraph 2(1)(b) of Schedule 1 to, the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites (Northern Ireland) Order 2003[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites (Maze/Long Kesh Development Corporation) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2010.

Interpretation

In this Order—

Establishment of Development Corporation

There is hereby established a development corporation within the meaning of Article 15(1) of the 2003 Order, to be known as the Maze/Long Kesh Development Corporation.

Relevant Site

The Corporation shall exercise its functions in relation to the relevant site known as the Maze/Long Kesh site.

Membership of the Corporation

In addition to the chairman, the corporation shall consist of10 other members.

SCHEDULE — THE MAZE/LONG KESH SITE

All that and those lands situated in the townland of Maze, Barony of Iveagh Lower (Upper Half) and County of Down registered in the Land Registry of Northern Ireland as being part of the following Folios and are shown outlined in black on the map attached:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Statutory Rule establishes a Development Corporation under Article 15(1) of the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 initially to progress the development of the Maze/Long Kesh site. The Rule also specifies the number of members the Development Corporation shall have, in accordance with Article 15(3) of, and paragraph 2(1)(b) of Schedule 1 to, that Order.
