The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 3(4) and (7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[^f00001] and now vested in it[^f00002].

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Certification Officer for Northern Ireland) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016, shall come into operation on 17th March 2016 and shall have effect from 15th June 2012.

Addition to list of employments

There shall be added to the kinds of employment listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, employment in the office of the Certification Officer for Northern Ireland[^f00003].

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order adds employment in the office of the Certification Officer for Northern Ireland to the kinds of employment listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, for which the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes. It has retrospective effect from 15th June 2012 by virtue of Article 3(7) of the 1972 Order.
