The Period Products (the Executive Office Specified Public Service Bodies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2024

Coming into operation: 25th October 2024
The Executive Office makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(1) and (13) of the Period Products (Free Provision) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 [^f00001]. In accordance with section 2(8)(a) of that Act it has consulted with the public service bodies specified by these Regulations.
Citation and Commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Period Products (the Executive Office Specified Public Service Bodies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2024 and shall come into operation on 25h October 2024.
Specified public service bodies

The bodies listed in the Schedule are specified as public service bodies to which the duty in section 2(3) of the Period Products (Free Provision) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 applies.
SCHEDULE — Specified Public Service Bodies
The Commissioner for Survivors of Institutional Childhood Abuse established by section 21 of the Historical Institutional Abuse (Northern Ireland) Act 2019 [^f00002];
The Commission for Victims and Survivors for Northern Ireland established by Article 4 of the Victims and Survivors (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 [^f00003];
The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland established by section 73 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 [^f00004];
The Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board established by section 1 of the Historical Institutional Abuse (Northern Ireland) Act 2019;
The Maze / Long Kesh Development Corporation established by Article 3 of the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites (Maze/Long Kesh Development Corporation) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011 [^f00005];
The Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission established by section 3 of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 [^f00006];
The Strategic Investment Board Limited designated for the purposes of Part II of the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites Order (Northern Ireland) 2003 [^f00007] by the Strategic Investment and Regeneration of Sites (Designation) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003 [^f00008]; and
The Victims’ Payments Board established by regulation 3 of the Victims’ Payments Regulations 2020 [^f00009]

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations specify the public service bodies within the functions of the Executive Office that are subject to the duty to ensure that period products are obtainable free of charge by persons on their premises who need to use them.
