In accordance with section26(4)(b) of that Act, they have consulted with Scottish Natural Heritage, being the advisory body they consider is best able to advise them as to whether this Order should be made.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order creates a period of special protection for certain wild birds listed in PartI of Schedule2 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 during which they are protected in the same manner as they are during the close season for those birds.

It is the third special protection order made in 2010. Earlier periods of protection in that year extended from 5th January to 18th January, and from 10th December to 23rd December.

This Order applies to Scotland only.
