The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 32(3) and (4)(b) of the Certification of Death (Scotland) Act 2011[^f00001].

Appointed days

The day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the Schedule (the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of the Schedule) is 25th March 2015, but only for the purposes specified in column 3 of the Schedule.

The day appointed for the coming into force of the Act, insofar as not already in force, is 13th May 2015.

Section 25 Prohibition on disposal of body without authorisation Only for the purpose of enabling regulations to be made under section 27A(2) of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 1965[^f00002]

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force on 25th March 2015 sections 4(8), 18(4), 19(4), 24(3) and 25 of the Certification of Death (Scotland) Act 2011 (“the Act”), for the limited purpose of enabling regulations to be made. To the extent that it is not already in force, the Act is brought into force for all purposes on 13th May 2015.
