The Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2017

Made: 21st November 2017

Coming into force: 22nd November 2017

In accordance with section 18(4) of that Act[^f00002], a draft of this Order has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2017 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Amendment of the list of specified authorities

• (1) Schedule 2 of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (the specified authorities) is amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

• (2) In the listing of the specified authorities, under the heading “Advisory bodies” insert, at the appropriate place, “Scottish Land Commission”.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends schedule 2 of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 to add the Scottish Land Commission to the list of specified authorities that are subject to section 2 of that Act. The effect of this is that the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life will regulate the process by which the Land Commissioners and the Tenant Farming Commissioner are appointed to the Scottish Land Commission.
