The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 45(2) of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016[^f00001].
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 9th February 2018.
Appointed day
2
9th February 2018 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016:—
- (a) section 8 (adult carers: identification of outcomes and needs for support); and
- (b) section 14 (young carers: identification of outcomes and needs for support).

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations bring into force certain provisions of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (“the Act”). The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 9th March 2016. Sections 41 to 43, 45 and 46 came into force on the day after Royal Assent.
Regulation 2 appoints 9th February 2018 as the day for the coming into force of sections 8 and 14 of the Act.
