The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of powers conferred on it by sections 8(2) and 10(2) of the Health (Wales) Act 2003[^f00001] hereby makes the following Order:—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This is the second Commencement Order under the Health (Wales) Act 2003 (“the Act”).

Article 2 brings into force, in its application to England, section 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Act. Section 1 omits section 20 of, and Schedule 7 to, the National Health Service Act 1977 and has the effect of disapplying the duty of the Secretary of State to establish Community Health Councils for districts in England.

The Order also commences consequential amendments and repeals.
