The General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

Coming into force: 17th March 2003
The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 1(5) and (7) of, and paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998[^f00001] and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales[^f00002]:
Name and commencement

These Regulations are called the General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 17th March 2003.
Amendment of the General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) Regulations 1999

- (1) The General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) Regulations 1999[^f00003] are amended as follows.
- (2) The Schedule to the General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) Regulations 1999 is replaced by the following Schedule —

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the General Teaching Council for Wales (Constitution) Regulations 1999 by replacing the Schedule to those Regulations.
The replacement Schedule updates the list of organisations that have the right to nominate persons for appointment by the National Assembly for Wales to the General Teaching Council for Wales.
The following organisations have been removed from Part Two of the Schedule:
- Wales Special Needs Action Group
- Council of Welsh TECs Ltd
- Council for Industry and Higher Education
- Head Masters' and Headmistresses' Conference
- Independent Schools Council
- Federation of Small Businesses
The following organisations have been added to Part Two of the Schedule:
- National Council for Education and Training for Wales
- Wales TUC Cymru
The name “University Council for the Education of Teachers Cymru” has been changed to “Universities Council for the Education of Teachers Cymru”.
