The Local Health Boards (Establishment) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2006

Coming into force: 6 July 2006

The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 16BA, subsections (1), (2) and (3) and 126(4) of the National Health Service Act 1977[^f00001], and Schedule 5B, paragraph 1 to that Act, which are exercisable by it in relation to Wales, makes the following Order—

Title, commencement and extent

• (1) The title of this Order is the Local Health Boards (Establishment) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2006 which comes into force on 6 July 2006.

• (2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.

Interpretation

In this Order—

• “the principal Order” (“y prif Orchymyn”) means the Local Health Boards (Establishment) (Wales) Order 2003[^f00002].

Amendment to the Schedule to the principal Order

• (1) The Schedule to the principal Order (Local Health Board names and principal local government areas for which they are established) is amended as follows:

• (2) In the column headed “Names of Local Health Boards established under article 3”—

• (a) for “Powys Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Iechyd Lleol Powys”) substitute “Powys Teaching Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Addysgu Iechyd Lleol Powys”);

• (b) for “Caerphilly Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Iechyd Lleol Caerffili”) substitute “Caerphilly Teaching Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Addysgu Iechyd Lleol Caerffili”); and

• (c) for “Rhondda Cynon Taff Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Iechyd Lleol Rhondda Cynon Taf”) substitute “Rhondda Cynon Taff Teaching Local Health Board” (“Bwrdd Addysgu Iechyd Lleol Rhondda Cynon Taf”).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Amendment Order amends the Local Health Boards (Establishment) (Wales) Order 2003 to change the names of Caerphilly Local Health Board, Powys Local Health Board and Rhondda Cynon Taff Local Health Board to reflect their status as Teaching Local Health Boards.
