The Children Act 2004 (Commencement No 8) (Wales) Order 2008
Made: 16 July 2008
The Welsh Ministers in exercise of the powers conferred on the National Assembly for Wales by section 67(7)(e) of, and paragraphs (b) of Parts 1 and 3 of Schedule 5 to, the Children Act 2004[^f00001], and now vested in them [^f00002], make the following Order:
Title, application and interpretation

- (1) The title of this Order is the Children Act 2004 (Commencement No.8) (Wales) Order 2008.
- (2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.
- (3) In this Order “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Children Act 2004.
Commencement

The following provisions of the Act come into force on 31 July 2008:—
- (a) Section 51, (inspection of local education authorities);
- (b) Part 1 (so far as not already in force) of Schedule 5 (repeals);
- (c) Part 3 of Schedule 5.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is made by the Welsh Ministers, under the Children Act 2004 (“the Act”) and applies in relation to Wales.
The Order brings into force on 31 July 2008, section 51, Part 1 of Schedule 5 and Part 3 of Schedule 5 of the Act, to the extent specified in each paragraph.
