The Health Act 2009 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2010
Made: 23 March 2010
Coming into force: 1 April 2010
In accordance with section 40(13) of that Act the Welsh Ministers have consulted the Secretary of State.
Title and interpretation

- (1) The title of this Order is the Health Act 2009 (Commencement No. 1) (Wales) Order 2010.
- (2) In this Order “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Health Act 2009.
Appointed day-various

1 April 2010 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
- (a) paragraphs 14 to 17 of Schedule 3 (NHS and other health appointments: suspension);
- (b) paragraphs 18 and 19 of Schedule 3 except in so far as they relate to amendments of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006; and
- (c) section 19 in so far as it relates to the paragraphs of Schedule 3 referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b).

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is the first commencement order for the Health Act 2009 (“the Act”).
Article 2 brings into force on 1 April 2010 certain paragraphs of Schedule 3 to the Act which contain amendments to provide for powers of suspension in relation to certain NHS and other bodies concerned with health (article 2(a) to (c)).
