The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County Borough of Bridgend) Designation Order 2013

The Welsh Ministers have consulted the chief officer of the South Wales Police in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 8(3) of Schedule 8 and paragraph 3(4) of Schedule 10 to the Traffic Management Act 2004.

Title, commencement and application

• (1) The title of this Order is the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County Borough of Bridgend) Designation Order 2013.

• (2) This Order comes into force on 1 April 2013 and applies in relation to Wales.

Designation of civil enforcement area and special enforcement area

The Welsh Ministers designate the area described in the Schedule as—

• (a) a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and

• (b) a special enforcement area.

SCHEDULE — Area designated as a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions and a special enforcement area

This Order applies to the whole of the County Borough of Bridgend with the exception of the M4 Motorway and its slip roads including all northern and southern slip roads and circulatory carriageways at junction 35 (A473); Junction 36 (A4061) and Junction 37 (A4229).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates the area described in the Schedule as a civil enforcement area and a special enforcement area for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The practical effect of the Order is to enable the Council of the County Borough of Bridgend to enforce parking contraventions within the area described in the Schedule to the Order through a civil law regime, as opposed to enforcement by police or traffic wardens in a criminal law context.
