The Education (European Institutions) and Student Support (Wales) (Revocation) Regulations 2014

The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 22, 42(6) and 43(1) of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998[^f00001] and now vested in them[^f00002].

Title, commencement and application

• (1) The title of these Regulations is the Education (European Institutions) and Student Support (Wales) (Revocation) Regulations 2014.

• (2) These Regulations come into force on 31 August 2014 and apply in relation to Wales.

Revocation

The Education (European Institutions) and Student Support (Wales) Regulations 2013[^f00003] are revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations revoke the Education (European Institutions) and Student Support (Wales) Regulations 2013.

The Welsh Ministers’ Code of Practice on the carrying out of Regulatory Impact Assessments was considered in relation to these Regulations. As a result, a regulatory assessment has been prepared as to the likely costs and benefits of complying with these Regulations. A copy can be obtained from the Welsh Government, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ.

[^f00002]: The functions of the Secretary of State under section 22 of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998 (except so far as they relate to the making of any provisions authorised by sub-sections (2)(a), (c), (j) or (k), (3)(e) or (f) or (5) of section 22) were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by section 44 of the Higher Education Act 2004. Section 44 of the Higher Education Act 2004 also provided for the functions of the Secretary of State in section 22(2)(a), (c) and (k) to be exercisable concurrently with the National Assembly for Wales. The functions of the National Assembly for Wales were transferred to the Welsh Ministers by virtue of paragraphs 30(1) and 30(2) of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c.32).
