The Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2015

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the power conferred by section 60(2) and (3) of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015[^f00001], make the following Order:

Title and interpretation

The title of this Order is the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2015.

Provisions coming into force on 6 August 2015

The following provisions of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 come into force on 6 August 2015—

• (a) section 2(1) (establishment of Qualifications Wales);

• (b) section 2(2) so far as it relates to Part 1 and paragraph 37 of Schedule 1;

• (c) Part 1 of Schedule 1 (establishment of Qualifications Wales); and

• (d) paragraph 37 (in Part 2) of Schedule 1 (consequential amendment to the Freedom of Information Act 2000[^f00002]).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force on 6 August 2015 the provisions of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (“the Act”) listed in article 2 as provided for in that article.

Section 2(1) of the Act establishes Qualifications Wales as a body corporate and section 2(2) introduces Schedule 1. Part 1 of Schedule 1 makes further provision related to the establishment of Qualifications Wales, including on its membership. Paragraph 37 of Schedule 1 amends the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to add Qualifications Wales to the list of public bodies and offices in Part 6 of Schedule 1 to that Act.
