The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power contained in section 30(3) of the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024[^f00001].
Title and interpretation

- (1) The title of this Order is the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2025.
- (2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024.
Provision coming into force on 31 January 2025

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 11 (promoting active travel as a way of reducing or limiting air pollution) of the Act is 31 January 2025.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order is the first commencement order made by the Welsh Ministers under the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Act 2024 (“the Act”).
This Order brings section 11 (promoting active travel as a way of reducing or limiting air pollution) of the Act into force on 31 January 2025.
